Insect metamorphosis
Holometabolous insects undergo complete metamorphosis – the larva is completely different from the adult in size, shape and food habits.
Hemimetabolous insects undergo incomplete metamorphosis – the nymphs resemble the adults, though smaller in size, and their food habits are the same as adults.
