1830s mounted seaweed specimen with hand written notes

Darwin collected this coralline algae specimen from the Southern Ocean in the early 1830s while aboard the survey vessel the Beagle . The specimen and Darwin's notes about it are housed at the Trinity College Herbarium in Dublin.
