REBEKAH FULLER What I really want to do is encourage young people to be scientists, and I also… I want to encourage young people who want to be scientists to work with their own people as well – getting people to think about how their cultures use natural resources, plants, fungi, whatever they are into – and work with their communities, to record this information, to preserve this information. And maybe it will have potential benefits for the communities as well. Being a Māori scientist, you've got this really great thing where you can stand in both worlds and bring those two things together, to make something that has benefit for both science and local communities as well.
