Dame Jane Goodall

The most important message that I would have for people in New Zealand or anywhere else is to remember that, every single day we live, we make some impact on the planet and we have a choice as to what kind of impact we make. And if we think about the consequences of even the little choices we make – what do we buy, where did it come from, how was it made, did it harm the environment, did it result in cruelty to animals like the factory farms, is it cheap because of child slave labour somewhere else, have we taken the environmental consequences into account when we think about the price? And then if people – first hundreds, then thousands, then millions and ultimately billions of people – are making ethical choices, we start moving towards a better world.
